300mm brake conversion bracket group buy

Post by Blueoval09 »

Bugger, bought the kit from pumaspeed 2 weeks ago. Tried fitting today on account of weather being shite and not having a garage and came across 2 minor problems, 1) the small casting ridge on the hub where the caliper carrier bolts on needs to be filed away, only takes 5 mins and can be done with a cheap file, and 2) the washers supplied with the hex head bolts are too big, when the adaptor is bolted in place the carrier rests on the washer and doesn't seat properly, i phoned pumaspeed and the bloke i spoke to said they had the same problem so fitted them without the washers, said they'd had no problems so will give it a go tomorrow (will be using loctite studlock though, just incase!)

my kits are NOT from pumaspeed and dont use the fiesta caliper
they use the larger mondeo mk3 or st170 caliper so will give better braking force and theres no issues with my brackets with fitting and is alot cheaper

300mm brake conversion bracket group buy

Didn't realise they done just the brackets, had a pair of mondy calipers but just sold them to a mate. Got my brakes fitted this afternoon, had another slight problem with the carrier bolts being about 3mm too long so had to use 2 washers or they touched the disc & locked it up when i fitted the wheel, spoke to pumaspeed before i realised what was happening & i have to say they're possibly the most helpful people i've dealt with (no i don't work for them!) done about 30 miles so far & they're awesome, well pleased with them despite the cost!

typo on my part I do not use pumaspeed parts
I have been told there brackets are not the best fitting and need modding
