mk7 300mm front brake conversion

Post by big g »

hi my names gary and i have just started doing 300mm brake conversions for the mk7.
i have been making conversion kits for mk3/4/5/6 fiesta's puma's escorts and sierras. i sell the kits on ebay other forums with the majority of them being sold on zsoc.com (same user name)
i now have a kit available for the mk7

heres a link to the brackets and a setup fitted to a mk7 zs

http://www.zsoc.com/showthread.php?t=245694

here is a copy of my price list from zsoc.com
300mm front brake conversions for fiesta puma ka escort etc

these will fit under 15'' zetec s alloy wheels and escort gti alloys

the kit includes
a pair of mondeo calipers and carriers
set of four new brake pads
pair of new focus st170 front brake discs
4 new ford caliper carrier bolts

prices are
for a basic setup £150 collected or £165 posted

with mintex pads £160 collected or £175 posted

mintex pads and mintex discs £ £170 collected £185 posted

for grooves and dimpled or grooved discs and ebc green stuff pads
£220 collected £235 posted

with ebc red stuff pads £230 collected or £245 posted

GROOVED AND DIMPLED OR GROOVED DISCS AND EBC YELLOW STUFF PADS £240 COLLECTED OR £255 POSTED
YELLOW STUFF PADS ARE A TRACK DAY COMPOUND SO IDEAL FOR ALL YOU TRACK DAY GOERS OUT THERE
i can do different combinations of discs and pad with prices on request

just calipers on there own paint and ground posted are £70

all calipers can be painted the following colours at on extra cost
blue
silver
red
satin black
yellow
gloss black
GOLD NOW ADDED

other colours may be available upon application (dependant on colour a £5 charge may be incurred)

dependant on the fitment calipers can come ground down to fit under 15'' wheels

3MM WHEEL SPACERS NOW AVAILABLE £7 A PAIR

please note for a zetec s / gti alloys (15'') you will need a 3mm spacer to give enough clearance

all ground calipers are jigged to fit
(please note that due to variations in wheels and balancing weights your wheels may need rebalancing and or may need replacing due to buckles in the wheel. this is because of the close tolanrances in running a 300mm setup under 15'' wheels. also the caliper may need fine tuning by yourself due to the above factors )

NOW AVAILABLE FIESTA MK7 UPGRADE
BRACKETS ARE AVAILABLE SEPERATE HERE

you will have to change the brake lines to mk 4/5/6 or mondeo mk3 ones as the mk7 fittings are different

ok, shouldn't be a problem - though getting right goodridge lines set after that will be tricky :D
another question for you - I read somewhere that focus ST170 calipers are stronger than those on mondeo - true or false? I swapped ST170 brakes to my Focus and I love it - would like to be dissapointed on Fiesta though

from my experience there is very little difference other than the extra cost for the st170 calipers
ive got one of my setups on a 300bhp 24v cossie v6 sierra xr4i and my setup had no problems on track at ford fair last year

The brackets arrived today! They look well made and complete with bolts. I'll get them on this week and report :o)
