I know this might sound stupid but what is the difference between the fiesta Mk7 and mk8 hatchback? I cant seem to find any difference in shape.

What i found diffrent is that if you look up fiesta parts for mk7 2 different shape of fiestas which is this http://shotgatesalvage.co.uk/images/035.JPG and this http://fiestamk7.com/blog/wp-content/up ... ec-S-3.jpg

whilst this is the fiesta mk8 http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/7/3/2/4/ ... 1796_o.jpg

What is the difference between mk7 new shape n mk8 cause i can't seem to find any. I'm soon buying the fiesta Trend 2011 from Malta and i'm looking for parts and I'm totaly lost now.

THanks for your help

I think there is nothing at all different.. I noticed on ebay some people list stuff as 'Mk8' But infact i think the shape from 08 and onwards is all a Mk7! Could be wrong though.

i dont think there is a mk8 yet, you have european, UK and USA versions, the main difference between EU and US, but i know there is no mk8 as yet, probably a facelift to the mk7 next year with the new ST, the first picture u posted was a mk6 before the facelift :)

Some people seem to call a facelift mk6 a mk7 which means they then think a 2008-present (new shape) is a mk8. As andyessex said there is no mk8 and the new ST will just be a mk7 facelift. Its only when ford change the whole design of the car that it changes to the next mk, the facelift versions are just fords way of making more money cos people think its a new car when infact its just a couple of cosmetic changes on the front end.

^ What he said. Although, by that logic, the Mk5 should have been called the Mk4 facelift lol

Well.. technically, the latest fiesta is a mk6 (according to ford - "the 6th generation"), but yeah, most people consider the mk4 + 5 to be entirely different cars, hence mk7 :)

Thanks to all guys....so looks like it's going to be quite a mission finding the right parts. However mostly on ebay and some site i'm finding that they're marked as mk7.

Or is it me that's wrong? :o I didn't think we were up to a Mk8 in Fiestas yet???
Well i think its wrong.

In the UK Market,
Mk1/2/3. Pretty Easy.
Mk4, approx 96-99
Mk5, approx 99-02
Mk6, 02-08
Mk6 Facelift was aprrox 05-08?
Mk7, 08 onwards
Mk8??? Doesn't actually exist as far as im aware/concerned.

Anywhere else is seems to be known as:
Mk1/2/3. Pretty Easy.
Mk4, approx 96-99
Mk4 Facelift, approx 99-02
Mk5, 02-08
Mk5 facelight was aprrox 05-08
Mk6, 08 onwards.

How i presume certain ebayers come up with Mk8
Mk1/2/3. Pretty Easy.
Mk4, approx 96-99
Mk5, approx 99-02
Mk6, 02-05
Mk7, (ie Mk6 facelift) 05-08?
Mk8, 08 onwards

Hope that makes sense, hope you agree, if not let me know!
