Workshop Manual?

Post by cram »

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this.

Does anyone know of a workshop manual for the MK7? Or at least a wiring diagram?

Thanks!

Not aware of a manual, would have thought the Mk 7 had been out long enough and was popular enough for Haynes to be doing one.

No nothing specific right now. I just like to study the layout before ripping panels off my brand new car.

Actually, one thing: for a project I have in mind, I need to remove the little plate the USB port and line-in are mounted to. But I'm scared of making little indents in the plastic by using a screwdriver to pry it out.

The project is to make an automatic USB switch. So an iPod dock is connected permanently, but once you plug in a USB device to the port, the dock is disconnected so the headunit can read the USB device. Not sure how much sense that made... :D

I've ripped most panels off. So can most likely help lol

Remove the gear surround. Pull upwards by holding either side of it. The clips closest the back will most likely unclip first. Then pull the front upwards DO NOT BEND TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE CAR this is where it will feel like it wants to go.

You will be able to unclip the USB/aux plate

To gain better access, remove centre console/hand brake surround

Pull upwards from right at the back (in the rear footwell)

This will then in turn unclip the section in front of the handbrake

Hope that makes sense

I e-mailed Haynes and they said they are in the process of writing the Mk 7 Fiesta manual and expect to have it on sale August or September this year.
