Cure for bent alloy wheels

I have had 3 bent alloy wheels over the last 5 years on my Mk7 16" 7 spoke alloys. I am getting fed up and want to replace all of them. Does anyone know if the new 16" wheels on the 2013 fiesta are stronger. I know thwy have the 195 50 16 tyres as opossed to the 45 profile, but would like to make a change and save the invonvenience of getting new wheels every time my kids hit a pot hole.
Ford Fiesta 2009. 1.4 petrol, 5 door, Titanium, Black, F&R park sensors, leather seats, Key free system, power starter button, bluetooth, USB, 7 spoke 16" alloys, rear electric windows, curtain airbags. Built 20 March Delivery 19 April 09. 55,000miles bought new.
