EGR Valve Removal and Cleaning

EGR Valve Removal and Cleaning

I need to remove and clean the EGR valve on my 1.4 tdci zetec. Does anyone have any advice or a procedure before i start.

I need to remove and clean the EGR valve on my 1.4 tdci zetec. Does anyone have any advice or a procedure before i start.

Not very helpful, but if it's anything like the 1.6 then pay someone else to to it, they're a bastard to do! Have to remove the windscreen trim & work blind at the back of the engine, can't see a bloody thing [ANGRY FACE]

For all the effort and cost to clean, I would blank the EGR. No more cleaning and better for the car.

I'm sorry, for some reason, I cannot reply back. Not yet, there are several other things I must complete before getting this done: timing belt kit changed, antifreeze, brake fluid, servo fluid changed, radiator sensor checked (radiator fan keeps running after I park the car, even in the winter, if I push it a little bit), climate sensor fixed (annoying buzzing sound).
I will probably do the EGR blanking and inlet mainfold cleaning next month. I will post the details then.

Got a how to on ZSOC for the 1.6 EGR, pain in the ass job but well worth it.
